Zehnder Rittling is a worldwide leader in innovation and quality in hydronic or radiant heating and cooling solutions. In 2019 they approached us with a distinct goal: to make their online presence as premium as their product line. With their North American headquarters located right here in Western New York, we were more than thrilled to help out a fellow neighbor.

Zehnder Rittling wanted to refresh their online presence to align with their brand guidelines and properly represent their high-end products. They felt a dynamic, intuitive document library that would allow customers to easily search would enhance the overall experience. And like many clients, they wanted to streamline the lead gen process, so an interactive map that allowed customers to easily locate and contact their Zehnder Rittling representation, based on their location in North America, was a critical component for the new website. And on the technical side, they wanted the flexibility to make updates on their own, with everything tied back into their current back-office administration portal.
Our first step was to create a style guide, wireframes and initial creative concepts to start to establish the look and feel of the website. Our creative team felt a bold homepage header animation would give the site a modern, updated look, so we created a video to show the client how this could look before we moved forward. We also included other, subtle, animations and creative treatments throughout the website, including red line hover animations for each of the product types.

Our solution to achieve the premium look and feel while giving their internal team the ability to manage the site independently was a custom WordPress solution that leveraged several plugins to extend the default functionality. We customized plugins outside of their standard functionality while keeping them independent from our code, ensuring that their internal team would be able to easily apply updates in the future without negatively impacting the custom functionality. Custom pages were made to be iFramed into their current internal marketing admin to incorporate the new site without interruption. The Google Maps API was implemented into a tailor-made Representative search that could geolocate the closest Zehnder Rittling Representative within each state for each distinct product group while allowing the internal Zehnder Rittling team to update and adjust the search independently. Their internal team went through our custom training, tailored to their site, and have been updating the site seamlessly since launch.

After 2-3 months, the site ended up being precisely what Zehnder Rittling wanted and more. Originally asking for a site with a premium experience, we delivered Zehnder Rittling a custom and modern site with engaging animations and navigation styles. One month after launch, the new site saw 2,154 users, 1,943 being new users. With a premium experience on desktop and mobile and fulfilling all of their online goals, this project was a textbook example of the level of service clevermethod can provide.
