When the COVD-19 pandemic hit, Pool Mart searched for a way to continue selling products amidst restrictive public health guidelines. So, when they approached us to help get a simple, cost-effective eCommerce solution up and running, we were up for the challenge.

The task at hand was to import hundreds of products and variants, establish a workflow to fulfill orders for employees at brick and mortar locations, all while getting up and running quickly to provide a new path to service customers. Our timeline to set up the Shopify eCommerce site was within a four-week window and provide post-launch support over the following two weeks to process questions as needed.

To expedite the timeline, we evaluated and provided recommendations for different Shopify themes that met functional requirements. Once Pool Mart made their selection, we leveraged fonts, colors, and other design elements from the main poolmart.com website. We wanted to create a distinct experience that fit in the “Pool Mart design family.”
In addition, we made light customizations to the Shopify theme, the most significant contribution was on the data architecture side. We converted their retail product spreadsheet into a format that could be imported into Shopify, eliminating countless hours of data entry at a point where time was of the essence.

The site was adopted much quicker than expected, and Pool Mart saw sales volume that far exceeded expectations.
As demand continued to rise, so many online orders were being placed it became challenging to fulfill them all and service customers at the stores. The biggest benefit was capturing sales and retaining customers that may have turned to other options had the eCommerce site not been available.
