If you’re from the Buffalo, NY area, we’re sure you’ve heard of Mighty Taco. A beloved brand and longtime friend of clevermethod, Mighty Taco wanted to create a robust email program to reach and engage with their customers. As always, we were up for the challenge.

Having worked with Mighty Taco on various projects, we were trusted with creative and developmental liberties when approaching this task. We were looking to successfully onboard an email platform that provided Mighty Taco with the ability to send monthly and seasonal email campaigns. The objective of this campaign would help increase customer engagement and inevitably sales.
After discussing logistics and expectations with them, we decided to approach this challenge from a technical perspective. The main question we asked ourselves was: what email platform allows us the necessary flexibility and efficiency? The answer was SendGrid.

Once we decided on SendGrid, we onboarded the platform and introduced a callout on the website to collect customer emails, along with a promotional welcome coupon. We expanded the existing functionality of our coupon service by using an API, this allowed for the direct display of barcodes in an email. Once SendGrid was up and running, we designed a dynamic email template and a welcome campaign to get customers excited about our new program.

Implementation of Mighty Taco’s email program took approximately two months from kickoff to production deployment. We onboarded SendGrid, added customer emails, and created and sent a welcome campaign. Via this welcome campaign, customers could sign up on the website and receive a coupon code to use in-store, which we used to track the success of the email program. Mighty Taco not only saw an increase in coupon redemption, but they continue to see increased traffic in stores. We also saw increased online ordering through their website. The platform has continued to send out many promotional emails and notify customers of special events and new or seasonal menu items.
